If you walk into a pub and take a seat, the waitstaff will smile at you pleasantly but not even consider approaching your table. That's because pubs are self serve. Here is Bob ordering ham sandwiches and pear cider at the Tinner's Arms. I am at the table resting my weary bones from the day's hike. Here is Bob at the Queen's Hotel in St. Ives checking us in for three nights. And ordering us a drink. I am at the table resting my weary bones. Taking photos is exhausting. Just sidle up to the bar, wait your turn, and place your order. They'll give you your drinks right away, and bring your food out to your table when it's ready.
There's no better cure for weary bones than Pimm's and some yummy pub food.
