The South West Coast Path goes through (around, really) four counties, starting on the northern coast in Minehead (Somerset), and ending on the southern coast in Poole (Dorset).
Guidebooks tend to further divide the path into regions within each county: North Devon, South Devon, for example. The path changes character significantly as it crosses through the counties — while the entire path is famously hilly — equivalent to climbing Mount Everest four times — each county offers a different personality of terrain and atmosphere. |
