Cornwall makes up nearly half of the path (~ 300 miles) and is widely considered the most dramatic and challenging part of the SWCP. Cornwall county is unique for the UNESCO World Heritage mining landscapes—historic engine houses perched on cliff edges. Many of the Poldark mining scenes were filmed here. North Cornwall is exposed, wild, and Atlantic-battered--our favorite section so far. We love the sheer ruggedness of it.
